How do you offer lessons? Lessons are offered online or at Jennifer's home studio in Hales Corners, WI
What online platform do you use? Lessons take place on Jitsi Meet, Facetime or Google Duo. We will discuss the platform at our initial meeting.
Do I need any special equipment for online lessons? No, you just need an internet connection and a computer, notepad, or smartphone with a camera and a microphone and you can take online lessons! Having a second device is helpful to play your accompaniment recordings.
What can I expect during a lesson? Lessons begin with vocal exercises. This will help build stamina, flexibility, coordination and muscle memory in the body. After this, we will move on to repertoire where we will use the technical concepts we worked on during the exercises and apply them to the songs.
I have never had a lesson before, do you accept beginners? Absolutely! Anyone over the age of 10 who wishes to improve their singing will be accepted in my studio. I accept all levels from beginner to emerging professional!
What if I have to miss a lesson? I require a 24 hour cancellation notice. If I receive the proper notification, the lesson can be rescheduled for a time available within my schedule. Without a 24 hour notification, the lesson will be charged and will not be rescheduled.
Do you allow friends or parents to sit in the lesson?Observation is permitted, but is ultimately up to the student. Please note, the observer will not be allowed to participate in the lesson in any way and is expected to observe in a respectful and quiet way. I do not allow friends who observe to create a group lesson atmosphere.
What materials will I need to bring to lessons? The student will be responsible for purchasing all music and instructional books. In addition to bringing your music, I also ask that you bring a notebook and a pencil to your lessons.
Will I need to practice? Yes! Practice is essential to improvement and becoming a better singer. We will work together to determine a suitable practice routine that will work for you and your schedule.
How much are lessons?Private voice lesson fees are competitive with the Milwaukee area. Payment is due at the beginning of the month for all lessons scheduled in the month. The rates to book online are drop in rates, there is a discount for recurring weekly/bi-weekly lessons.
What is the best way to contact you and schedule lessons?Your initial chat and initial lesson you can schedule through the Book Online page. I also provide drop in sessions via this page. The studio utilizes My Music Staff to schedule weekly lessons. Once you have expressed interested in regular, weekly lessons you will be given a portal login to review available days/times for lessons and schedule accordingly. Since I am not always available via phone, email or text would be the best way to contact me throughout the day.
